Magnavox (Latin for "loud voice") occurs as consumer electronics company that is now a portion of Philips Consumer Electronics. A Magnavox Company was founded around 1917 with the introduction of the 1st loudspeaker which Edwaround Pridham and Peter Jensen invented in 1915 and gave it the Magnavox title. By owning a introduction of the Odyssey in 1972, Magnavox began the personal video game console market. Philips bought Magnavox around 1974.
